Youth Group

We offer both Senior High and Middle School Youth Groups that meet on Sunday afternoons from noon until 1:30 and offer a balance of fellowship, fun, and Christian education. Our Youth Groups are also active in Diocesan and Deanery events. The lay leaders coordinate the programs in consultation with the clergy.
Senior High Youth Group is open to students in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. They reflect theologically on the needs and conditions of the world, and undertake various mission and service activities. This is the setting for periodic confirmation classes and provides an environment in which individuals' gifts are affirmed without judgment and a cohesive peer group is sustained.
Middle School Youth Group is open to students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. It addresses issues faced by young adolescents in a safe and accepting environment, while deepening their faith and knowledge of Scripture. New this year are Middle School Discipleship Groups, small groups that meet outside of the regular Youth Group meetings to form close bonds and explore issues of faith, family, friends, school, etc. As they reach age 13, middle school students participate in a Rite 13 service in which St. Mark's celebrates their acceptance as young adult members of the congregation.
