Lenten Soup Supper

3/17/2010

Wednesdays in Lent
This year’s Lenten Soup Supper program guides us through an overview of six of the world’s great religious traditions, especially as we encounter them among our neighbors here in California. For four more Wednesday evenings and Palm Sunday morning, we’ll gather over a family-friendly meal, watch a brief video, and then discuss what we have learned. We’ll work with study materials developed by the California Council of Churches, and expect lively conversations.

Wednesday night Soup Suppers begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Hall, followed by a one-hour program beginning by 7:30 p.m. We’ll finish the series at 9:15 a.m. on Palm Sunday in the church library. If you can take a turn bringing soup, bread, cheese or salad, please sign up on a clipboard in the narthex or at Coffee Hour.

The calendar is as follows:
    Wednesday, March 3    Judaism
    Wednesday March 10    Buddhism
    Wednesday, March 17    Christianity
    Wednesday, March 24    Islam
    Sunday, March 28, 9:15 a.m.    Sikhism
Everyone is welcome—Please join us!

Family Fridays in Lent

Ash Wednesday is just around the corner, which means it’s time for our popular Family Fridays series. Each Friday during Lent, families gather at a parishioners home for a potluck dinner and program. Childcare is provided. For more information or to RSVP, call the church office (798-6747).
