Throughout history and across traditions, ashes have been a symbol of our mortality…from earth we come, and to earth we shall return. The church marks the start of the season of Lent with ashes, as a call to a time of particular reflection. All are welcome at Saint Mark's Ash Wednesday services at Noon and 7:00 p.m. on February 14. If you'd like your ashes to go, Carri, Galvin, Mike, and Sylvia will be waiting for you from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. in the schoolhouse driveway on Altadena Drive or down in the parking lot. Follow the signs, stop and roll your window down, and we'll impose ashes with a short prayer.
