Ash Wednesday - February 22, 2023

Throughout history and across traditions, ashes have been a symbol of our mortality…from earth we come, and to earth we shall return. The church marks the start of the season of Lent with ashes, as a call to a time of particular reflection.  All are welcome at Saint Mark’s Ash Wednesday services in the church at noon and 7:00 p.m. on February 22.

If you’d like your “ashes to go,” Mother Betsy and Pastor Carri will be waiting for you from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the schoolhouse driveway on Altadena Drive or down the driveway in the parking lot. Follow the signs, stop and roll your window down, and we’ll impose ashes with a short prayer. Whatever your own tradition may be, if this will be meaningful for you, we invite you to participate.
