Join Episcopalians from around the country on October 16, 2022, at 1:00 pm PDT. Topic: Theologies of Pleasure

In Pleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good, Adrienne Maree Brown draws on the invitation by Audre Lorde to say ‘yes’ to the fullness of life. Maree Brown asks us to make pleasure, healing and happiness central to our work for social justice. How does a conversation about pleasure fit into a Christian narrative which is almost exclusively focused on sacrifice and suffering? How can the Bible help us connect with our own bodies and with each other? Why is incorporating a concept of pleasure into faith-based social justice important?

Join us for an engaging conversation led by panelists Gabrie’l J. Atchison, President, Bishop Holly Chapter, UBE, Hazel Monae, Missioner for Equity and Justice, Diocese of Washington, and The Rev. Isaiah Shaneequa Brokenleg, Staff Officer for Racial Reconciliation, The Episcopal Church.
